I am a Certified Barefoot Trimmer (ACEHP) and I have been using both the Good Gear Naturals Antimicrobial Hoof Clay and the Stay Put Cream for the past few months.
I have been really pleased and excited by the results that have presented in the hooves to which I have applied the Clay when Seedy Toe, White Line bacteria, and Thrush have presented. With repeated application I have observed significantly improved overall hoof health, something we all want and strive to maintain.
I was one to use a copper sulphate mix but when introduced to this natural product I was sold almost overnight on its effectiveness. It is so much easier to use and any hoof odour eliminated immediately; which is far more pleasant when your nose is only centimetres away from the smell.
The clay’s consistency also allows for trouble-free application in every part of the hoof.
I have been delighted with my use of the Stay Put Cream on the face and ears of my horses that have rubbed out their hair from itch. I have also applied it to the horse’s muzzles as they have been prone to tick infestation on a regular basis.
The cream has proven to be a deterrent to ticks attaching having found far fewer ticks on their muzzles when using the cream.
Application of both products is extremely easy and highly effective. I happily endorse and recommend these products to all of my clients as I have found results excellent with their use.
Good Gear Naturals are Great products.
Okay! I have a cheeky Standie with QLD itch that I can not keep rugged for the life of me! He pulls them to pieces.. which makes most available products useless to me as I can not use anything oil based.
After using a combination of things for the last 6 months and only being able to keep it maintained but not improving.
I was put onto “Stay Put cream”.
This stuff is amazing. It stays put for days. It protects him and stops him cutting himself and settles the itch and all together.
I’ve been using it for about 3-4 weeks and the areas have minimised by over 50% with fresh growth covering the areas already.
I made sure I had another tub on order before my current ran out!!
If you have a horse with itch this is the cream to buy!!!

Good Gear Naturals are Great products.
I am a certified barefoot hoof trimmer in FNQ, and in our tropic conditions I have many clients who struggle with seedy toe, thrush, QLD itch and more.
Good Gear Naturals is proving absolutely invaluable in helping me help their horses!
I carry both the hoof putty and cream in my trimming box, and all my clients know I'm happy to be generous with it. It's so easy to use that I am happy to on sell these great products too.
We have had some fantastic results, and I wouldn't use anything else
I'm a professional barefoot trimmer and can safely say Good Gear Hoof Clay is a MUST HAVE in every horse owners first aid kit. It is wonderful for treating thrush and seedy toe.
I am not a fan of copper sulfate and only use it under duress as new growth hoof tissue is so delicate copper sulfate does comprise growth so having an option that is natural and safe (in terms of harm to tissue) is the best.
The consistency of the clay means it is perfect for packing seedy toe, pressing into collateral grooves, heel bulbs and frog itself.
Easy to apply for myself and clients and so refreshing to use a product without having to worry about gloves! Also smells good which is nice 😀 better than stinky horse feet!
Wonderful product, highly recommended and Good Gear (Carolynne) is wonderful to deal with and a wealth of knowledge about the product.
Good Gear Stay Put cream has literally changed my world (and my horses leg).
He has a white sock which had ongoing regularly mudfever issues worsened by a bad case of photodermatitis. T
his cream has not only cleared up the problem but now seems to be preventing the onset of further issues.
It withstands the monsoonal wet that we can get in the tropics & acts as a great sunscreen for harsh sun. Lasts forever.
Both my vet & barefoot trimmer have been impressed by the results using this product & suggested I continue using this.
Have also just started on hoof clay for hoof thrush & 1st impressions are extremely positive. So easy to use instead of daily soaking or cost of soaking boots. Again thumbs up from vet & trimmer.
Fantastic products from a very knowledgeable creator.
I have a Clydesdale who had both mud fever & was constantly getting new wounds in his feathers from biting insects.
I used the 'Stay Put cream' and within 24hrs the heat had gone out of the wounds. It also stopped the bacteria from spreading underneath the feathers & all sores were completely cleared up & hair growing back in a month.
It is the only cream I have used that is able to withstand the Far Nth QLD climate and stay on for 4 days!
I have also used the wet clay to treat his minor thrush issues in 2 of his hooves and also got immediate results.
Absolutely love these products.
This is the best cream for itches to scratches soothes and smells lovely once I started applying he relaxed .. stayed on from up to 5 days and worked a treat.
I was given a sample of the hoof clay by my trimmer for some nasty thrush in my mares front feet.
This has been amazing and cleared it up nice and quickly best of all I have only been treating every few days and it’s still worked like a dream!!!
My little mini had a bad itch on either side of his back legs.
This stuff stopped the itch instantly and healed his itch in days. Will be buying it again!
Our mare had a bad case of Queensland Itch. The cream cleared it up in a flash. One happy horse.
Hi, just wanted to say I got some of this hoof clay last week at the Feed shop in Gordonvale.
My horse has thrush and with this hoof clay I saw already improvement in four days.
She also gave me a sample of the stay put cream (not knowing in this time it was for itch, thought it was the wet clay) and I put it on my other horse hooves where the frog always peels off, it worked well and in four days it was all dried out...
Looks like stay put cream is also good for their feet...
Really love this stuff.
